At Evolve Personal Training in Indianapolis, we specialize in helping busy women over 40 in Carmel and Fishers to build strength, confidence, and lasting results – without extreme workouts or diets. Our small-group and 1-on-1 coaching programs combine expert strength training, personalized nutrition guidance, and real accountability so you can finally feel in control of your health again.

Mahony Brogan
Founder
Hi, I’m Mahony, the owner and head coach at Evolve Personal Training. I’ve been in the fitness industry for over a decade, and in 2021 I decided to start Evolve with one simple goal: to make high-quality personal training accessible, welcoming, and community-driven.
I believe fitness is about more than just looking good – it’s about building strength, confidence, and longevity. That’s why I created our small-group training program. It combines the personalized coaching of one-on-one training with the energy and support of training alongside others. My favorite part of what we do isn’t just the workouts – it’s the relationships that grow here and the encouragement clients give each other.
My background is in powerlifting and functional fitness, but I appreciate all training methods for what they can offer. I’m not tied to one style – I care about what works best for your goals. The same goes for nutrition: I believe that small, simple changes, done consistently, lead to big, long-term results. I’m especially passionate about changing the message women often hear about fitness and nutrition.
For too long, “eat less and do more cardio” was the advice. I want to shift that conversation to “strong is the new skinny” and show women how to fuel their bodies, train smart, and thrive – without extremes. Outside the gym, I love reading, playing golf, and constantly challenging myself to grow in both life and business. I don’t take myself too seriously, but I take your goals seriously, and I’m here to help you reach them.

Sam Johnson
Hi, I’m Sam! I grew up in Northeastern Connecticut and studied Nutrition and Fitness at SUNY Morrisville in Central New York. For the past 14 years I’ve worked as a personal trainer in both Syracuse, NY and Los Angeles, CA, before moving to Indianapolis in 2024 with my partner, Mary.
Sports and movement have always been a big part of my life – from playing baseball, softball, and basketball growing up to enjoying bike rides, horseback riding, and the occasional tennis match today. When I first visited Evolve, I felt the positive energy right away and knew I wanted to be part of this community. I’m passionate about helping people get stronger, move better, and feel more confident.
My favorite exercise is the deadlift because it’s one of the best movements for building strength that carries over into everyday life. Outside of the gym, you can usually find me gardening, photographing birds in the backyard, or walking along Pleasant Run Trail with Mary.
I also love stage combat choreography (yes, I was once a professional), have a certification in fine wine, and enjoy the company of my two pets – a Chihuahua named Chico and a cat named Nic. I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and being part of the amazing community we’re building here at Evolve!
Advanced Equipment
At Evolve, we don’t believe in fancy machines or gimmicks. We use proven tools that help you get stronger, burn fat, and move better in real life. You’ll see dumbbells, kettlebells, and cables in our sessions because they allow for natural, functional movement that strengthens your body the way it’s meant to move. We also use conditioning tools like the SkiErg, Assault Bike, and other cardio equipment to build endurance and burn calories without endless treadmill miles. We don’t prefer one piece of equipment over another – the right tool is always the one that gets the job done for your body and your goals. Every exercise we choose has a purpose, whether that’s protecting your joints, improving balance, or building strength you can feel outside the gym.

The smaller size makes it feel more personal and welcoming, never crowded or intimidating. We embrace the micro-gym concept: everyone knows each other, and workouts feel more like training with friends than just “going to the gym.” That sense of community is what keeps people motivated and coming back. Our space is equipped with everything you need and nothing you don’t – from dumbbells and kettlebells to cables, SkiErgs, and Assault Bikes – so every session is efficient, effective, and focused on your goals.
